Is it worths spending more for the latex in Ikea’s BEDDINGE HÅVET mattress, rather than the foam MURBO?

Personally I would say yes.
But it really depends upon your needs.
If it is for a seldom used guest bed or if you plan on moving in a couple of years then the foam may serve your needs.

The beds in college dorms?

Well. im getting a memory mattress, the super comfy foam ones or something. But i was thinking that when i go off to college, the beds in the dorms might be less comfy, so i won’t be able to get used to it. For college dorms, could you bring your own mattress? And what size mattresses? i used to sleeping on queen size- all by myself, i like the space.

You will need to check with your college’s Resident Life & Housing (or whatever it’s called). Most don’t allow you to swap mattresses and if you do, you will have to arrange for it to be moved.

As a suggestion, you may want to buy a memory Foam Mattress pad that goes over the mattress to make it softer. I used one in school and it was very nice. It made the hard bed feel a lot softer.

As for size, it depends again on the school. Most of the beds were a little big larger than twin. If you have a single, it might be a little bigger. Don’t count on having a queen size bed.

My new foam mattress is like a rock - will it get softer soon like in the store or is something wrong with it?

I bought a Therapedic memory Foam Mattress - it was great in the store - it molded to my body right away. When it was delivered to my house and I lay down on it, it was seriously as hard as a rock. I am unable to sleep on it at night. Is that normal when it’s brand new or is something wrong with the mattress? Does anyone else own one of these and had this happen to them? I’m pretty upset since I spent close to $1000 on it.

I would call the store!! They may have delievered the wrong one, if its supposed to be like foam…

Or, you could have tried out a different model, and bought the wrong one, thinking it was the right one and it wasnt…

Talk to your store rep and see what the problem is.. (Do it before too many days have passed or they may not take it back!).

I wish you well..

Up, Up, and Away! Why Adjustable Air Mattresses Rule

Air mattresses are getting popular because shoppers are accepting that air provides firm and even support. Air sleep systems were originally designed for use in hospitals so bed-ridden patients could rest a little more comfortably.

With the advantages of sleeping on air spreading far and wide, air mattresses have turn out to be a rage with more people resting on air than ever before! Adjustable airbeds or air mattresses enable the firmness of the mattress to be changed.

Let us look at why adjustable air mattresses are preferred over typical mattresses.

MAKE UP TIME: What makes up these air mattresses? What unique concept underlies their amenities? It is in essence very simple. Air mattresses are made up with a foam layer on top. In addition they have reinforcement on the sides made of foam.

These offer for the mattresses extra softness. The layer of extra foam makes the mattress more rigid and also supplies a layer of protection. The air mattresses also have a core, which is inflatable. This inflatable core is filled with air and helps to move the body weight away from the pressure points. This is highly helpful for adjusting the firmness of the mattress to your exact, desired comfort level.

SPRING IN THE AIR: Expensive coil spring mattresses create pressure points on your body. But then, air sleep systems do a far better job of minimizing pressure points.

The air bladders present in the mattresses conform to your body’s shape, supporting you evenly without the irritation created by unequal pressure on your body from the spring mattress. Air mattresses are unusual in that they work by redistributing weight more evenly across the surface of the body to reduce pressure points.

You may have often felt that the mattress you are resting on is too hard or too soft. With an air sleep system, you can adjust your own side of the air mattress to the level of firmness that’s exactly right for you with the touch of a button.

The mattress can be made firm or soft as per the liking and comfort of the user. This is the proper solution for couples who share a bed and undergo sleeping on unsuitable mattresses due to the others preference. This is an important reason why people prefer air mattresses.

SLEEP TIGHT: When the mattress has the right level of firmness, it makes sleeping and relaxing all the more comfy. This is because the contours of the body are utterly rested.

The firmness of the mattress gives the right kind of massage, which is required by your body during sleeping hours. You must have experienced how you toss and turn in bed if the bed or mattress is uncomfortable. With air mattresses, such activities are considerably reduced.

Whether you sleep on your side, back or stomach it doesnt matter. Neither does it matter if you are tall, short, slim, or heavily built. The air mattress will allow you to adjust it to your own tailored level of comfort for a satisfying night of sleep. All this at a touch of a button!

So, do not wait any longer. If you are losing sleep over your mattress, it is time to select for the adjustable air mattress and enjoy that peaceful nights sleep you have always wanted.

Put that further bounce in your step with adjustable air mattresses tips.

which one is best comfartable mattress to sleep on .. ?

coil sprung, pocket sprung, memory foam, latex

I had a water bed that was a little different. The water was in large tubes, 7 I think, and you could change how firm you wanted it to be based on the water level. The tubes were in a square foam thingy and then a Foam Mattress on top of that. You had the comfort of the water bed, but actual support for your back. I miss that bed!! :( Stupid moving out for school!!! :) Good luck.

Tempurpedic?

I am currently shopping for a new mattress. At Macy’s today I laid on probably every bed in there. None of them felt good to me at all until I laid on the queen size tempurpedic mattress. Now, I am not looking to spend $2500 on a mattress when I have heard you can get a "rip off" of a tempurpedic for half the price and it is literally the same thing. Does anyone have any experience with these off brand memory foam beds? Any suggestions. Thanks a lot.

My son has a knock off brand he bought at Wickes and it has been horrible. Within two years it started sagging horribly in the middle. The company will not stand behind it. Our Tempurpedic mattress is 5 years old and it feels as good as the day we got it. Shop around, we went to a Home Show in Anaheim, CA. There were many stores selling them there and the price kept getting beat isle by isle. We ended up savings $600.00 by the time we bought ours, and it is the true brand too.

Can i sleep on my new memory foam mattress straight away?

I bought a silentnight memory Foam Mattress which was air-tight sealed. In the booklet it says allow the mattress 24 hours to "Recover" before use. It’s been a few hours now and it appears to be in full shape and im anxious to lay on it! What should i do?

Prop it up against a wall and be patient lol. It takes it a good while to recover from the air-tight compression so give it time and enjoy testing it out tomorrow night. :-) Xx

Anyone tried costco’s online mattresses? do you think Latex boxtop or Europillowtop(memoryfoam& latex) better

Has anyone bought mattresses on Costco? I am looking at the Hainsworth or Madeline models? So confusing! I heard memory foam is hot but alot of people like it so am trying to think if a combo of memory foam and latex is best or just latex? Also, what is the difference between euro pillowtop and boxtop? I would like the plush ones but heard that they can also be uncomfortable after awhile. It’s hard to compare because I guess the same mattresses go by different names. Anyway any help is appreciated. I have been sleeping on a ten year old mattress with coils sticking out and can’t stand it. I’d rather pay a little more to help get a good nights sleep! I like medium/firm mattresses but like the feel of featherbeds.

personally i think that memory foam is annoying, and most people don’t like it. I own a latex foam one and I love it! I go to Better bedding, they actually care about your sleep needs.

What kind & size of bed do you sleep on?

Traditional mattress & box spring, foam, air, sleep number, waterbed, other?

Me - foam (love it!), queen size bed.

We have a queen size sleep number. It’s okay, but I wish I had a foam bed! I think they are so comfortable!

How long does a Memory foam mattress last?

How long does a memory Foam Mattress last? I think the regular spring bed usually last 10 years before the springs are worn out.

One of the first companies to make this claim was the Tempur-pedic bed with the “visco elastic foam” that they claimed was a superior bed because the bed supposedly conformed to your body. I knew a lady who bought this very expensive bed and she liked it but said that she paid too much money because there were other companies making similar products for less money.

I wanted a new bed but knew that it wasn’t in my budget at the time. I bought a bed “topper.” This is supposed to be of the same material as the Temur-pedic bed but is just a piece of foam that fits over the top of your old mattress. I think mine was 6 inches thick and was very heavy. I have used mine for several years now and I must say that I am very comfortable while sleeping on it. To answer you question more clearly I will say that I haven’t noticed any degrading of the foam itself in several years. I can’t say for sure how long it will last but I don’t see any problems in the near future. All beds are made of various type of foam and they last for many years. Based on this I would say that it should last at least as long as any other mattress and they can last many years depending on how there treated. All manufactures of mattresses will tell you to periodically flip the mattress and change it end for end (place the head at the foot and the foot at the head.) This will make the mattress last longer by not having any uneven wear or saggy spots.
