How do I stick foam mattress padding to my walls?

i have cut 12" x 12" squares out of Foam Mattress padding and checker-boarded them on the walls.. i’ve heard this works very well for acoustics in our band practice room. and it is working great… the problem is, the squares keep coming off.. right now they are stuck with Duct Tape.
i don’t want to ruin the walls.. and i don’t want holes everywhere..
I still recommend duct tape, just maybe try to find a better tape.
It should be able to hold something relatively light on a wall, just make sure you tape in a cross rather than around the perimeter of the square.

have you tried hooks instead, like coat hooks kinda thing, seems like it might work, and for cheap too

If you have permission to stick them up permanently, gorilla glue will hold anything. But please know, it will never completely come off of the walls and will ruin them underneath the foam.

Have you tried velcro? I know that sounds crazy, but it worked even for heavy things in my dorm room.
Buy the strips (which will probably work better than the dots), and just follow the directions.

Try some spray adhesive if you don’t care about the walls.

we nailed ours up with large head roofing nails

okay — glue them together and then - if they are floor to ceiling - you can just push them into place - if they are tight enough top to bottom. if not — then a thought would be the hooks that were mentioned. again, keeping them glued together and affixing them to a piece of wood to which you can affix the hooks to…. this might work too.

Get some 3M spray adhesive from a store selling artist materials or craft supplies. That make one that will work and not leave a huge mess when you pull the foam off the wall.
