Whats the best type of mattress for us?

Our mattress is wearing out and hubby is starting to complain about back pain. Both of us are starting to have trouble sleeping. We’re currently using an innerspring mattress.

Just a few things, neither of us are particularly lightweights. I weigh about 180 lbs and he’s about 250 lbs. I know any mattress we get won’t last long (we’re working on it but its slow going).

Its also very hot at night. We live in New Orleans so heat is normal, and hubby seems to just generate heat like nothing I’ve ever seen. He’s always hot to the touch.

I personally have a problem. I need something that will adequately support my left leg (or cradle it) due to a very severe car accident I had in 2004. The last thing I need is something that won’t support it.

So we need something that can handle out weight, and isn’t going to make us hotter.

What do you suggest?

I have been looking at latex because of its durability but I’ve been hearing that it increases the amount of heat and thats the last thing we need.

Due to our weight, I think a memory Foam Mattress wouldn’t do us any good unless its at least a foot and a half thick because we’d hit the board underneath.

But the innerspring mattresses aren’t exactly the most comfortable.

What are your suggestions?

Memory Foam is going to generate heat, not latex. You need to look at Latex based on your weights and sleep issues. Check out http://www.mattresshero.com and look at their Eco Latex Lineup. They offer free shipping and a 90 day sleep trial.

  5. Medical grade beds that are suggested by your physicians or chiropractors offer the top notch choice for anyone with back or neck pain and problems. Unfortunately, these beds can be more than $3000 and are not in the budget for most individuals. The next best mattresses are those with memory foams.

Tempur-Pedic and Select Comfort are among some of the top choices for mattresses by individuals with back problems. Tempur-Pedic mattresses use memory foams to find the perfect level of firmness for each individual. Select Comfort mattresses also allow individuals to select the proper level of firmness for their particular back conditions.

Hope this helps. i would choose the tempur

  6. I suggest memory foam or tempurpedic. Even though you would need a foot and a half thick, I still think its the only thing that will really work for you Good luck.
