What brand of memory foam mattress is the best?
I am a light sleeper and wake up when my boyfriend moves around in the bed. I'm also a side-sleeper and sometimes I get cramps in my shoulders due to a regular mattress. I just think that a memory foam mattress is a good idea. Plus, we want a bigger bed. Thank you!

We have one of those memory foam pieces that you roll on top of your own mattress. They are better than the original mattress, but still not the best in my opinion. But each person has their own likenesses on how hard or soft they would need. This also would not solve the movement problem with your boyfriend. The info below is how to buy a memory foam. The other link is a store link to Tempurpedic. I tried one of those out and OH MY GOODNESS!!!! If I could afford one of those, that is the way that I would definitely go! I would go to a store near you and try one out for yourself. Even they have differences in density to choose from. Good luck!

Tempur-pedic is the market leader in terms of support and technology in the memory foam mattress market. Tempur-pedic has done extensive research and patented the construction of their mattresses. Their mattresses tend to sleep cooler than most memory foam mattresses because of their patented air flow system that is included in all of their products (except the OriginalBed). The memory foam they use in their comfort layers is 5.3 lb/ft3 and 7.0 lb/ft3 for their Tempur-HD foam which is used in the Rhapsody, Allura and Grand Beds. When looking at memory foam mattresses, you will want to consider the density of the foams they use along with the layering of those foams. This will allow you to better compare across brands.

Due the the inherent pressure relieving properties of memory foam, you should be able to sleep better on your side on one of these mattresses than on a normal bed.

The nice thing about memory foam (and foam in general) is if your partner moves around you won't feel it.

Memory foam mattresses are a blessing, but they can be extremely expensive. I built my own, instructions are here http://www.gmilburn.ca/memoryfoam/
