Memory foam mattresses?
I was looking at the 8 inch queen size that Walmart carries. I have arthritis and these types of mattresses come highly recommended. Do you have one of these mattresses? I know that they stay warm, so how do you keep yours cool? What do you like and dislike about your mattress? What kind do you have? All answers are much appreciated. Thanks!! ![]()
I have done quite a bit of research, but what I found that it really comes down to is how thick each layer is. The top, which is the memory foam part, is usually 3 inches thick, and the base foam is anywhere from two to twelve inches. Just curious as to who has what and their preferences.
We have a Tempurpedic. In the winter it’s great as it does hold your body heat. In the summer, not so much – we live in New England without central AC, and it gets nearly "gooey" feeling. There’s no real way to "keep it cool."
I love the actual support of it and sleeping on it, but my husband doesn’t. It’s not exactly a "soft" surface like a pillow-top, but you will sink in. Especially in the summer months, if you go to turn over, it will take some effort.
The other answer where it was suggested that you "try" it sounds like the best solution. The furniture store at which we bought it had a 90 day "no questions asked" return policy. I think my husband wishes we had returned ours, but I’m happy. It’s all up to individual preference.
Have you done a web search as in the UK we often see ads on the TV offering these types of mattresses on a 3 month trial before you buy and if you are not satisfied then you just return the mattress .
