Do you think visco elastic memory foam mattresses are comfortable? Why or why not?

Trying to decide if we should buy one.

I do not own one- yet. But have surveyed 20 people on Ebay who've bought them- and every single one of them LOVES theirs. The only thing I DON'T like- is that while they imply that the mattress will never develop any memory effect, if pressed, they tell you it will not develop a "significant" permanent impression- by that, I believe they specify 1-1.5 inches. To me, that's a HUGE indention. Unfortunately, all those I surveyed on Ebay- hadn't had theirs long enough to attest to long-term performance.

I have slept on a Tempur-pedic and loved it. I gave back troubles and it has been the only time I have slept without pain in the morning.

i use it too. it really relaxes the whole body. it got rid of tossing and turning and my neck doesnt get stiff in morning. i actually paid over 300.00 for a memory foam mattress at sharper image-(not online)

I have a Tempur-pedic and have slept on a sleep number. I prefer the Tempur-pedic. My Sister-n-law regularly sleeps on a sleep number and fell in love with my Tempur-pedic.

I own a memory foam company, so I am admittedly biased, but I couldn't go through a day without my memory foam mattress. I'm a disabled veteran and I designed the mattress I use. I have Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and permanent nerve damage and I wake up feeling much better with this mattress than I ever did without it.
